Northern Cyprus has issued over 2,000 permits for foreign property buyers following legislative changes.
Since May 2025, updated regulations have come into force in Northern Cyprus, easing restrictions on real estate purchases by foreign nationals. Since then, authorities have issued 2,250 permits to foreigners for the acquisition of property, according to the Yeni Duzen newspaper.
For comparison, throughout 2024, a total of 6,951 foreigners received such permits, resulting in the purchase of 4,410 apartments, 1,186 houses, and 568 land plots.
Under the new rules, foreigners are now allowed to buy up to two houses or three apartments, with each house having a maximum plot size of 3,000 m². Previously, the limit was one house or apartment on a plot not exceeding 2,500 m².
Citizens of countries that officially recognize the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (primarily Türkiye) now have even broader rights — they may purchase up to six apartments or three separate houses.
Northern Cyprus continues to actively develop its real estate market and attract international investors.
