The historic mansion Tophane Müşiri Zeki Paşa Yalısı on the Bosphorus is once again looking for a new owner. Its price is 10,000,000,000 TL, approximately 232 million USD.
The villa, with an area of 2,489 m², includes 23 rooms, 5 salons, and 8 bathrooms. It features château-style stone architecture, ceilings from 3 to 4.5 meters high, and kitchens with bathrooms on every floor. It is located in one of the most prestigious areas of the Bosphorus — Sarıyer.
History of the Zeki Paşa Mansion
At the beginning of the 20th century, Zeki Paşa, who served as Tophane Marshal under Sultan Abdul Hamid II, commissioned architect Alexander Vallori to build his summer residence. The mansion was designed for the comfort of the entire family and immediately stood out on the Bosphorus for its grandeur.
After the declaration of the Second Constitutional Era in 1908, Zeki Paşa was removed from office. He died in 1914, and his luxurious mansion, one of the pearls of the Bosphorus, changed hands several times.
One of the owners was Ömer Faruk Efendi, the son-in-law of the last Ottoman Sultan Mehmed Vahdettin, who lived in the mansion with Zeki Paşa's daughter, Sabiha Sultan, and her family.
After Sabiha Sultan left Istanbul, the residence passed to new owners in the Republican era. In the 1930s, the Bashthimar family purchased the mansion, using it as a private residence for many years.
The Zeki Paşa mansion, which preserved its original appearance and architectural details, was first put up for sale in October 2019 and became one of the most expensive private residences in Turkey. It did not sell at that time and is now available for purchase again.
The villa belongs to a family from Trabzon, with Melike Bastimar being the most well-known heir. A specialized real estate agency manages the sale, giving the opportunity to acquire one of Istanbul’s most recognizable waterfront mansions.
Zeki Paşa Villa stands out among other mansions on the Bosphorus not only for its price but also for its historical and architectural heritage, as well as its unique location.
