The Hamsi Festival in Alanya will take place this weekend
Alanya is preparing for a vibrant and flavorful event — the 3rd Hamsi Festival (Hamsi Festivali), which will be held on November 29–30. For two days, the city will be filled with the aroma of freshly cooked anchovies, the sounds of Black Sea music, and the atmosphere of a joyful public celebration.
The event, organized by the Black Sea Folk Association of Alanya (ALKARDER), is gathering residents and visitors of the city for the third time. Traditionally, chefs will cook tons of hamsi right on the spot and offer it to everyone free of charge.
The festival location is the square behind the former municipality building, in the Iskele district.
Concert program:
November 29: Onay Şahin and Onur Atmaca
November 30: Davut Güloğlu and Filiz İlkay Balta
Filiz İlkay Balta and İhsan Aydın will also perform on stage. The host of the event is Filiz Yıldırım.
Organizers expect a large number of visitors from all around Alanya.
Hamsi is not just a fish — it is a true gastronomic brand for Türkiye. Anchovies are used in dozens of dishes, from classic fried hamsi to pies, soups, and even desserts.
