Sporty Alanya: The 26th Traditional Public Run Takes Place

In Alanya, the 26th traditional public run was held with great enthusiasm in honor of the anniversary of the arrival of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to the city. Organized under the slogan “Let’s Run to Atatürk, Let’s Run with Atatürk,” the event brought together 690 participants and once again confirmed Alanya’s status as the sports capital of the Mediterranean.

The event was organized by the district governorship, the municipality, Türkiye Atletizm Federasyonu, and the local branch of Atatürkçü Düşünce Derneği.

The program included several race categories:
5 km — 450 participants,
2 km (“Young Steps”) — 80 participants,
800 m (“Little Steps”) — 80 participants,
800 m (60+ category “Second Wind”) — 80 participants.

Historical Highlight — 800 Years of Kızılkule

A special race dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the city’s symbol, Kızılkule, gave the event a unique atmosphere. The 800-meter races for children and participants over 60 took place against the backdrop of the legendary Seljuk-era tower. This historic route attracted great interest fr om spectators and became one of the most memorable parts of the program.

5 km Winners

The best result on the main distance was achieved by Gültigin Er — 14 minutes 14 seconds.
Enes Kızılcık finished second (14:22), followed by Burak Çağdaş in third place (14:32).

Award Ceremony

Winners and prize holders received their awards from representatives of the city and sports institutions. The ceremony concluded with commemorative photos, leaving bright emotions for participants and spectators alike.

Alanya once again proved that it rightfully bears the title of the sports capital of the Mediterranean — a city wh ere history, traditions, and an active lifestyle unite people of all ages.
