Roadworks on Atatürk Street in the Heart of Alanya Enter the Asphalt Phase

Large-scale renovation works on Atatürk Street, one of Alanya’s main arteries, are progressing according to schedule. The project is being carried out under the coordination of Alanya Municipality in cooperation with six infrastructure companies. In the first phase, between Alaaddin Keykubat Park and Türkmenbaşı Street, hot asphalt paving has begun.

Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, who inspected the site, stated that the project is proceeding without delays and that traffic will be reopened section by section once each phase is completed.

The works started on November 3. Water and electricity lines have already been renewed, and the natural gas line has reached the area of the National Education Directorate. For the first phase, 3,700 tons of hot asphalt will be laid over a 1,300-meter section.

The municipality also plans to renew street lighting from the Atatürk Monument to the National Sovereignty Stadium. Infrastructure works will be coordinated to minimize long-term road closures.

As part of the project, sidewalks are being fully replaced with a unified design, stormwater systems have been renewed to prevent flooding, and the street is gaining a modern appearance. A new initiative to standardize shop signs along the street has also begun.

In addition, sewer line works are underway in the harbor area. The Konaklı wastewater treatment plant is already operational, while modernization of the central Alanya facility will be completed by the end of April, doubling its capacity.
