Northern Cyprus Moves to a Digital Land Registry

The TRNC authorities are launching the TAKBİS digital land registry system, already in use in Turkey. According to Environment and Urbanization Minister Murat Kurum, the platform will go live by the end of June 2025, completely transforming real estate management in Northern Cyprus.

Less paperwork — more transparency

TAKBİS will allow citizens to complete cadastral transactions online, eliminating bureaucracy. Land registration and real estate deals will become easier, faster, and safer. A mobile app will also be available, providing instant access to property data from your smartphone.

The digital future of urban planning

TAKBİS is just the beginning. Plans include the introduction of 3D modeling, digital city twins, and geographic information systems. This will improve spatial planning, construction monitoring, and disaster response.

At the same time, the Ministry is investing in infrastructure: building social housing, greening cities, and modernizing public buildings. A key role is played by cooperation with the Turkish housing agency TOKİ — more details will be announced during President Erdoğan’s visit in May.

Digitalization and infrastructure investments are shaping a modern and sustainable development model for Northern Cyprus. The new land registry system is just the first step.
