Investors Strengthen Confidence in Türkiye’s Economy

Türkiye remains one of the most attractive destinations for investors among emerging markets. The country demonstrates stable positive economic dynamics: after peaking in 2024, inflation is gradually declining, and foreign investors’ interest in Turkish assets continues to grow.

Between January 13 and 17, foreign investors poured $1.24 billion into Turkish bonds, marking the largest inflow in the past two months. As a result, total foreign investments in 2025 have already reached $1.9 billion, according to the Central Bank of Türkiye. Foreign investors now hold more than 10% of the country’s public debt, the highest level since 2019.

A significant factor in boosting economic activity has been lower interest rates, making credit more accessible for both businesses and individuals. This has led to increased economic momentum. Recognizing these positive developments, Moody’s and Fitch Ratings have upgraded Türkiye’s credit rating.

Fitch Ratings revised Türkiye’s long-term credit rating in foreign currency, raising it from “B+” to “BB-”, while maintaining a “stable” outlook. Analysts forecast that Türkiye’s economy will grow by 3.5% in 2024 and by 2.8% in 2025.

Türkiye’s Minister of Treasury and Finance, Mehmet Şimşek, emphasized that Türkiye was the only country to receive credit rating upgrades from all three major rating agencies in 2024. He attributed this achievement to a program aimed at strengthening macroeconomic stability and increasing financial resilience.

According to the International Investors Association (YASED), foreign direct investment (FDI) in Türkiye amounted to $7.67 billion from January to September 2024, an 8% increase compared to the same period in 2023, as reported by the Central Bank of Türkiye.
