Fr om July 31 to August 3, 2025, the 19th annual Gökbel oil wrestling festival will be held in Alanya. This year, the event will last four days for the first time and will combine sports, nature, culture, shopping, and local gastronomy. There will be lots of interesting things — don’t miss it!
The event program includes oil wrestling competitions, football, volleyball, archery, off-road races, horseback riding, table tennis, an adventure park, night cinema, and other activities for the whole family.
The festival, which has become popular not only in Türkiye but also beyond its borders, will take place on a plateau in the Taurus Mountains. Before it begins, the organizers conducted a field inspection and a coordination meeting with representatives of the municipality, the military, and local authorities. All the details were carefully worked out.
The mayor’s advisor, Abdurrahman Açıkalın, stated that preparations for the event are almost complete:
“We are organizing our 19th annual Göğbeli wrestling and oil wrestling festival. We are preparing for the festival by improving physical preparation and organizing a variety of events and surprises. We will also hold sports activities for four days, and we believe this will bring a lot of joy to our region. We are confident that our residents will greatly enjoy it. We would like to thank all the institutions and organizations that supported us, and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the festival.”
One of the main attractions will be the largest market in the region, wh ere visitors can buy handmade crafts, textiles, kitchenware, local farm products, and ready-made food. The market and food courts have been modernized and expanded to accommodate the large flow of visitors.
