The international trail running event Alanya Ultra Trail 2026, one of the most spectacular sporting events in Türkiye, has concluded in Alanya. The event took place on 27–28 March and attracted 820 athletes from 23 countries.
All distances started at Cleopatra Beach (Kleopatra Plajı) early in the morning of 28 March. Participants ran routes that connect the Mediterranean coastline, Alanya’s historical landmarks (including Alanya Castle, Red Tower, and Tersane) and forest trails of the Taurus Mountains. The routes climbed from sea level to altitudes over 1,500 meters, combining technically challenging ascents and descents with picturesque natural landscapes.
The program included five distances:
- 68 km (Alanya Ultra Trail)
- 42 km (Taurus Mountain Trail)
- 27 km (Keykubat Mountain Run)
- 18 km (Cleopatra Short Trail)
- 5 km (Alanya Castle Run, held for the first time)
The average age of participants was 41 years. The youngest athletes were 16–17 years old, while the oldest were 70 years old. Among the 820 runners, there were 548 men and 272 women.
Winners were determined in a hard-fought battle across all distances:
- In the 68 km race, gold went to Mehmet Soytürk and Ezgi Aksedir.
- In the 42 km race, Shyngys Baikashev and Dominika Stelmach took first place.
- In the 27 km race — Bogdan Kovalenko and Evgeniia Slinkina.
- In the 18 km race — Dmitriy Hohlov and Merve Atilla.
- In the 5 km race — Musab Kundakci and Dilara Tiryaki.
In addition to the competitive part, the event turned into a two-day festival with an EXPO zone on Cleopatra Beach, featuring brand activations, performances, and meetings for participants, their families, and spectators.
Alanya Ultra Trail traditionally opens the spring tourist season in the region. The event contributed to an increase in tourist flow during the off-season, boosted hotel occupancy, and stimulated the work of restaurants and service businesses. Organizers noted that such international starts strengthen Alanya’s status as a year-round resort and enhance the region’s investment attractiveness.
