For the seventh consecutive year, Alanya delights reading enthusiasts with a long-awaited and extensive fair. The event takes place from September 26 to October 5, 2025, under the slogan "Okumak Yeşertir", which means "Reading Makes You Greener." This year, care for nature is at the core of the fair’s philosophy.
The Alanya Book Fair, organized by the Alanya Municipality, continues to attract significant public interest. The fair will run until Sunday, October 5, and includes lectures by prominent writers such as Aydan Şener, İnci Aral, Varol Yaşaroğlu, Feyzi Açıkalın, autograph sessions with popular authors, and publisher stands.
The book fair aims to instill a love for books and nature among young people. Thanks to cooperation with the District Directorate of National Education, students from many Alanya schools visit the fair in groups to meet their favorite authors, explore books, and get autographs.
The event opened with a symbolic tree-planting ceremony, and one of the highlights of the first day was a meeting with actress Aydan Şener, who spoke about her creative life and interacted with fans.
The guest of honor was writer İnci Aral, who gave a talk on gender equality and femicide issues. There was also great interest in the presentation by Varol Yaşaroğlu, author of King Shakir, and poet Ahmet Telli.
The program includes lectures, presentations, and autograph sessions with leading Turkish literary figures such as Feyzi Açıkalın, Abdullah Akbaş, Mehmet Mollaosmanoğlu, Gökhan Müftüoğlu, Şükrü Erbaş, Ali Koç, Sinan Candan, and Professor Ahmet Taşagıl.
The event is organized by the Alanya Municipality and has traditionally become one of the city’s main cultural platforms.
The fair is located behind the old municipal building (Eski Belediye Binası Arkası). The format includes:
-
Meetings with famous writers and poets
-
Autograph sessions
-
Panel discussions and book presentations
-
Symbolic tree-planting activities highlighting the connection between culture and nature
Regular cultural events like this make Alanya an attractive place to live and relocate. The city is especially comfortable for families with children who are willing to integrate, learn the language, raise children in a multicultural environment, and value active cultural life, sports, nature, clean ecology, and a warm climate.
Moreover, public school education for children of foreigners is free with a residence permit; children quickly learn the language and receive support from teachers. When entering university, students can obtain a student residence permit. Alanya has two major universities offering a wide range of faculties, both welcoming international students.
Alanya is a secular and open city with many foreigners living there and events involving them, such as the large annual New Year Fair.
